Climbing to the fundraising peak

In late November I hiked up Mt Kosciusko with 99 other women to raise money for the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.
The Humpty’s Hike is an annual event that brings together 100 women with one comon goal, to ‘conquer Kosi for kids’!
The Humpty Dumpty Foundation was officially established in 1996 by founder and chairman Paul Francis, to purchase much needed medical equipment and support children’s services at Royal North Shore Hospital.
Due to overwhelming corporate and community assistance, Humpty has continued to extend its support of Paediatric services and Newborn Care Centres. Humpty now supports over 60 children’s hospitals and health services across Australia as well as two children’s hospitals in East Timor.
In the last four years, Humpty has raised over $11million and has purchased more than 700 pieces of essential medical equipment.
Over half the hospitals and health services that Humpty supports are located in rural regions, many of which rely on government funding and the generosity of the locals who use the medical services, but often that is not enough.
It was a fun weekend, with amazing weather and great company with old and new friends.
I was very happy to have been the highest individual fund raiser, I raised $12 000 and the event raised $300 000, which was awesome.
Humpty’s creates a ‘Wish List’ with specific medical equipment required by Children’s Hospitals and Maternity & Peadiactric Wards across the country.
This year Baillie Lodges additionally donated a state-of-the art breast pump to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital Maternity Unit, item #3 on the Humpty Wish List for 2010.
